The year is 1961. Eighteen year old Billy Young receives the news that he is to join the U.S Army and serve his country in the Vietnam War, leaving behind his pregnant girlfriend Alice May.
In five years, his life changed forever; Billy is now back from the war and sentenced to spend the remaining years of his life in Texas State County Prison.
As Billy tell his story to the audience, we watch his life laid out before our eyes; though we know the worst is yet to come, we are with him every step of the way.
Billy Young - A Life on Death Row tells the story of a man who made a mistake in order to protect the son he loves. It asks the question how far would you go to save your loved one, and gives an insight to death row in America as well as a closer insight to state prisons and life on death row.
