Featuring Raymond Coulthard as King George VI and Jason Donovan as Lionel Logue.
It’s 1936 and the King has abdicated leaving the throne to his brother, Bertie with Great Britain on the brink of war. But before Bertie can address the nation as King George VI, he first must conquer his paralysing stutter.
As he is thrust into the media spotlight, Bertie desperately struggles to overcome his personal demons. Prompted by his wife and future Queen Mother, Elizabeth, Bertie turns to the Australian maverick speech therapist, Lionel Logue. Together they embark on an unlikely journey to find the King’s voice.
This acclaimed play that inspired the Oscar-winning film, is the uplifting true story of a man inspired to overcome a life-long setback in order to lead his country through the Great War, and his poignant friendship with the man that helped him.
